WIP Crazy 8

A WIP of my Main 8... or as you see me call them "The Crazy 8!"

I love all my OCs... just like my friends here say, they are my babies, and I am proud of them. However, there are some I love more, and well, these eight represent the them... and because I am corny, I decided to describe them a little with an attribute I think first them below. Again, this is a WIP and yes.. my drawing is rather rough. This is step one of my coloring phase you are previewing!

A quick note to my regullar watchers. You may notice some slight changes. That is because this is set ten years in the future.

Mimic, Changeling of Hope's Asylum

Attribute: The Second Chance.

Mimic the Changeling is very much a reason I wanted a place like Hope's Asylum. He doesn't have a Hive or home to call his own, and when he came to the refuge all those years ago, he was a broken Changeling. Though he and Kellie initially did not get along, both of them had hurt pasts, and they together in secret, found love. A Changeling and Kelpie? What a strange couple!

Mimic is now the head and Protector of the treasure of Hope's Asylum. He reports to the creatures who live there and swears to live better than his past. You may read more about him here:

Silhouette Shield, Of the hidden home in the forest.

Attribute: Enduring Love

Silhouette had everything she thought she needed: Adventure, a post near the Night Princess and a life to mingle on her days off with the Canterlot stallions! She was happy, but alone. One day, on assignment, a certain scared Zony got the best of her and took her out! She, up until then, thought nothing would ever stop her, but when she came to, she found him... the stallion she wanted to marry. She knew it, regardless of the teasing from her friends, her cousin... he was the guy!

Years later, she and her husband fought to save their third child, and Kijani was nearly lost to them a second time... but it was because of others, that Silhouette finally claimed her children again. The decade has been one of isolation and slow recovery, but she missed her friends, and when they met again, they welcomed her back.. with a bonus! Silhouette said, as she showed her pregnant belly "Zeddy still has it!" Much to the crowd's disgust...

Zed the Zony, Guide of the Everfree and beyond.

Attribute: Patience

The Zony stallion who once thought nothing in his life would ever work out. He was dumped by Hermes, a long time friend and lover, told to leave his mother's after paying her for his education, and considered to be odd by most ponies. It wasn't until a kind Earth pony Guard asked for a Guide through Everfree, that Zed would find his destiny, and meet somepony who not only wanted him, but adored everything about him. Zed wasn't a bad looking stallion, just.. skittish and unconfident, but Silhouette (he called a "Sillie" pony) showed him how to be a stallion he always wanted to be, despite her very carefree nature.

Zed was shocked to find Silhouette got pregnant one day while training, something he was told couldn't happen. But the twins were his blessing, his surprise and no matter how, he loved them with all his heart. While Zed made decent money, Silhouette insisted on being the worker of the family, so Zed played a fatherly role at home, tending to his foals with great care, and in the end making sure they were always well loved.

Hermes, the HippoGriff messenger.

Attribute: Endurance

Hermes, much like Zed, was a mixed background. However, Hermes was very well liked by many, just never seemed to have great interpersonal skills. This limited his scoop of knowledge, but, he very much enjoy flying long distances, and so... found himself a mail carrier, and package deliverer for things needing transport from Hope's Asylum. As, during the time, the refuge was a secret of sorts, Hermes only flew to places that had Gryphons, to not raise suspicions, though was often asked about having a cutie mark. Due to his route met and partly rescued his future love, Almond Blossom, though that is another story!

Hermes was very much willing to marry the young mare, but as the age difference was an issue, he waited until she was old enough, and had an established life in the cave town. Sadly, the marriage did not happen right away, as a Gryphon/Minotaur conflict brought him away for over a year during the day of his original ceremony, and many ponies and Griffons were injured due to a local fight. They did marry later, and have lived rather well together!

Blitzen or "Blitzy" R Kirin, The Guardian Elder

Attribute: Honor

Blitzen has lived longer than most in the Asylum, only second to Miss Kellie, at over 120 years. This is because Blitzen is a half dragon, half pony. Initially, Blitzen, and his sister, were blessed with longer life, averaging 1 year of age, to 10 to 11 years of development. This made Blitzen a mere colt at only 100! Still, despite this, Blitzen wished to be normal, and through much research a spell was found, in exchange for his services as a dragon hybrid Guard to the Equestrian Services, and later, as an Elder Dragon representative to bridge the gap between Dragons and Ponies.

That gap, and the honor Blitzen took to the opportunity, prevented several conflicts, and a much better understanding of Dragons as a later result. Still Blitzen does not really care about that, and only wished to be a colt, and grow. Life however changed that once he got older and met a fellow young pony named Sirius. The two had a rather sweet romance in secret, and eventually Blitzen announced their courting. The hybrid was met with much criticism, along with his pony lover, so both left the Guard and made a life for themselves in Hope's Asylum. He bares no ill will to those that fear him, and is friendly, with a bit of curious innocence about him.

Blitzen has also had many adventures. from chasing creatures and big monsters, to dealing with Elder Dragons, and has mementos of said trips near him at all times. The necklace he wears is a gift from a "Rather chaotic, but kind kirin... at least to me"** and often references other ponies to his group of friends. Though perhaps, they may only exist in Blitzen's wild imagination, one can never be to sure

ThunderHead, the performer and proud drag-pony!

Attribute: Joy

No matter who, from the cranky and racist Burry Do, to the cute little foals... few can resist the cheerfulness and friendly demeanor of ThunderHead! She, many years ago, only preferred few to know that she was in fact a he, as TH said "Some ponies just don't understand. Fashion, style.. they make me happy, and I want everypony to be happy XD" and kept her born sex hidden from all but a few ponies.

Her career started out of luck, and a very loud burro manager... who demanded better entertainment when he arrived from Stirrup. TH was simply performing a song for the audience, and while many saw a cross-dressing pony, the burro saw potential, and someone to help. Much insistence later, TH was set to headline at a big opening downtown in North Equestria, and the rest grew from there.

Thunder was NOT the first drag-pony... but is well known due to her very happy shows, and her very open (as in public) relationship with a dress designing mare named Chante. This caused much in-fighting amongst the performers, but TH loved th talks, and never backed down. To Thunder: "I have a reason to be happy. Whenever a show is done, I have a lovely pony waiting for me, and lots of kisses from my lil darlings! XD Nothing can take that from me! C= "

Burry Do, the bitter and beloved Burro

Attribute: Blunt Honesty

The burro is much older than the others, around 30 some years (or some guess, Burry rarely speaks to them) older. He, despite his rough exterior, questionable business practices, and VERY outspoken anti-Unicorn rants... is considered to be the most honest, and sometimes sweetest of the eight creatures. Burry is well travelled, due to his background, and is said to be a rather unique Jack. His time is Zebrica, however... left him very hurt. He met many creatures and such and has an appreciation of many, despite his own loss, so when coming back to Equestria, he was culturally shocked.

The reason, they say, Burry is greedy and sometimes selfish, is all his time and happiness goes to Snow Drift, his little Molly Pegasus, and to him, she is worth being hated for her to live better than the rest of the "lower Equine, like me" and firmly believes that he is treated differently because of being a burro (Note: While this might be true, Burry being mean doesn't help his reputation! )

Burry is a common link to many, as he owns many properties some live in and work together in Hope's Asylum. The reason he bought the places and how, were part of his settlement from the Gryphons for wrongful death of his first wife and child, and "rather than spend that blood money on myself, I decided, that in a way, I could control and make order for half of the town that took me in." Burry in total owns a quarter of the homes in Hope's Asylum, and partnered with other non-pony Equine to help them out in realty investments. While not large landowners, Non-pony properties give many lesser equines work, and for that Burry is proud. He is currently married to a Pegasus mare, who is often stressed over Burry's "nonsensical rants"

The Great Kellie, Kelpie of the Asylum's waters.

Attribute: Acceptance/Forgiveness (both apply)

Rather than spill this Kelpie's dark history... the kelpie of Hope's Asylum wishes to be known for what she is now: A loving protector of the refuge of lost equines (and non equines) for over 400 years! Many regrets, and many sins have been accumulated before Kellie's arrival, most lost to time, but many don't remember that when the all White water pony hugs and greets them, and makes them feel welcomed, even if just visiting.

Kellie prefers to be a support role for the others, especially to her lover Mimic. This doesn't mean she is weak or submissive to anypony.. no, she DOES take charge, but, much like Changelings, Kelpies are feared due to their shape-shifting and unknown natures. Regardless of this due to the water way system of the asylum, Keelie can help, or track any creature in her domain, if the need ever arrises.

The water spirit loves children, but as neither her, nor Mimic can have any, they prefer to see other foals, hatchlings, or whoever wishes to be, as their adoptive family. She will do anything for those she loves.
