Blitzen Adventures: Meeting Alatreon (part 4)

Chapter 4: Striking back the Demon...

Most ponies see me as a strange old pony. I don't mind. I am a bit unusual, but after living my life, and seeing things happen the way they have, one tends to not be bothered by these things.

The impulsive Pegasi was out cold, leaving the crying colt kirin behind. I still, to this day, question why he was allowed to join the ranks.. certainly not the way things were back in my day. Perhaps I shall bring that up...

This left me no choice really. The medicine needed time to clear Sgt. Fury, and even with it, his wings needed a cast for a while, making a flying attack impossible. I watched everything the dragon did, and while his flight attacks were strong, and somewhat annoying, I noticed he tired out fast.

My plan was simple, hold my Mace tightly, call upon my Princesses for power, and aim as high as I could leap. This attack i perfected with escaped Manticores, back before hunting them was declared no longer accepted. Still, this was something only I could do... if only with the faith I hold dear.

The dragon landed, and as I thought, his head dangled down to recover its breathe. I trotted, and galloped, and looked ahead, then to Blitzen, and back to the horns I aimed for, and leaped just as another annoying explosion blew under me.

More than anything I wanted this fight over with. I hated these monsters, as I know they knew more than they seemed to know. I was tasked, whether Blitzen knew it or not, to make sure that, if we had to fight, the dragon was to fall in a way that would perhaps intimidate other dragons and creatures from attacking. It was hard to hear, but I believe my Princesses have their reasons...

I struck with my weapon held both between my front hooves, and teeth for stability, and to make the impact harder. The problem was, I knew my old teeth were going to hate me for this, and I was very much right...

After the impact, the dragon fell over its remaining horn cracked, and nearly ready to break as well, and flailing to get up. I hit its jaws over and over, thinking about everypony that wrong me, who doubted my faith, and discriminated because of my pony race. I hated all that, and each strike the dragon paid for it.

I was happy, in an odd way, but it seems pride has a way of showing itself. I turned to somewhat gloat to the two who finally were coming to help me finish this beast... but even good impacts and knockouts only last a while, and this "Alatreon" got up, and swept his horn under my legs, and picked me up, and held me in his teeth, and bit now...

I write this now, completely condemning myself. The Sisters saw me and my faith enough to spare my death then and there, but truth be told... maybe I should have let the beast consume me, as I let pride do so before...

Well, finally got the older stallion involved in the fight! Besides the last part, I believe Holy Armor did very well, however, Pride does cometh before a fall...

All this fighting, all this effort, yet the dragon still has the will to fight. It is, much like I have felt whenever I do this Dragon on the game. You fought and hit its head over and over.. but until a "Quest Clear" pops up.. You are not done! Thus is life...

That said, I had so much fun with this chapter. I hope I hinted enough of Holy Amor's dissatisfaction in his small squads abilities.. as this will become a part of the report the ponies will eventually have to give to Canterlot...
