Aka Shield: A look forward.

First in my series of my lesser known, and not expanded upon characters. This is Aka "Jeremiah" Shield, the bat Zony.




At first glance you can see that this colt has a lot in common with his mother, Silhouette Shield, and the stripes of his Zony father Zed, making him a bat Zony! His curly and big mane was both his choice, and something he preferred, but it came at a cost.

As a teen, while sent away to learn in Canterlot, Aka was brutally mocked, called "the filly colt" or even worse things! While he is an emotional pony and he had his twin sister with him, he still preferred to deal with his rejection of other by crying alone, wishing he was not born this way.

In one such incident, he was so angry, he wrote to his mother and father, in a three page letter, telling him how much he "Wished the day I was born, I would have died... I hate my life here, and YOU made me this way. They call me gay, and a stallion toy, and horrible things, and even Melody doesn't want me..." Which was then followed by a runaway attempt.

Aka would have been a sad story, were it not for a nice understanding mare. Little is known about who this mare is, but she made Aka express his emotions more controlled, and once he focused, showed his anger to those that mocked him before, and resulted in a better school life.


His potential for shielding his red hot anger was a reflection of his cutie mark, something he never understood until then. He would apply and get accepted by the Guards and eventually work with his parents former friend Blitzen, who enjoyed the young stallion working with him on new adventures, from time to time.

Now much rounded, Aka set his goals on one thing he feared he did lose... his parent's love. After the letter, Both parents rarely visitied and Melody felt he was to blame for that, and caused the twins to slowly part. Permission was granted one week, and Aka returned to his home and held his father and mother close, apologizing for his words, and crying for a nice reason. He caught up with them and his younger sister Kijani, and went to seek out his twin later. Before he left, both parents were happy to tell him they were proud of him, something he felt he needed to hear.

Aka found Melody by asking around and although she was a beautifulsinger and musician, she gave that up to work for a Botany department, getting her doctorate. The twins spoke few words at first, until aka gave a gift from home to Melody, and both were back to being great siblings again.


Though Aka feels like Melody is not happy with her new line of research, they always meet every week to talk, and, at least one time, the stallion requests his sister to sing something. He prays, one day, they can all be happy as their parent's were who gave them this chance.
